Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.Karpaga Vinayagam

 In the year 1972, he got enrolled himself as an advocate in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu. In July 1977, he was appointed as the Government Advocate in the Criminal Side in the High Court of Madras and he appeared in several sensational cases on behalf of the Government for nearly seven years.
    In the year 1979, Justice M.Karpaga Vinayagam married Padmini of Nagapattlnam. He has got one son Arun and one daughter Sathya.
    In the year 1984, he set up his own office and has a lucrative practice in Criminal Side. He was appreciated and complimented by the eminent Judges in several judgments rendered them in the High Court of Madras.
    In the year 1993, he was nominated as an Editor for the Law Journal “Current Criminal Reports”.(C.C.R.), New Delhi.
    Justice M.Karpaga Vinayagam has got a love for Timal language. In order to ensure that the lawyers enjoys the Tamil literature, he started “Lawyers Literacy Society” and conducted meetings and seminars. During the year 1994, the International Institute of Tamil Studies, run by the Government of Tamil Nadu, invited M.Karpaga Vinayagam for presenting papers in the Seminar on the topic “Criminal Law in the Ancient Period”. The Government has published the papers in the form of a book to enable the public to know about the comparative study of the criminal laws prevailing in the “Sangam” period and the present period.

    In the year 1995, Justice M.Karpaga Vinayagam, being an ardent devotee of SRI SATHYA SAI BABA, started an Association called “Advocates’ Sai Study Circle”, which has been regularly conducting meetings, bhajans and also arranging for the Advocates to participate in Social activities as guided by SRI SATHYA SAI BABA. He became a devotee of SRI SATHYA SAI BABA in the year 1988, since he was saved from a flight accident by the grace of SRI SATHYA SAI BABA.
    
    On 08.01.1996, he was elevated as a Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Madras.

    He sincerely believes that his elevation as a Judge of High Court of Madras is only by the wish and blessings of SRI SATHYA SAI BABA.

    On 17.09.2006, Justice M.Karpaga Vinayagam was elevated as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, Ranchi.
